Tenzorum Review – Key Management Protocol on the Blockchain

Everyday we use our smart phones, smart tablets, online bank accounts and a variety of other devices and services that are secured in some way or another by a 4-15 digit password and if we are diligent there is also a 6-8 digit token that has to be entered as well to provide at least a dual-factor authentication. This provides a level of security that is needed to keep our personal information, our money or other items, safe from prying eyes, hands and theft.

For any of us that have ever forgotten our passwords or has lost the key to the token – we know that there is a way to recover that information either by speaking with our partner, calling a help desk, having a code sent via SMS to our phones or other relatively painless but annoying ways to reset the password and restore access to our service.

Tenzorum’s High Level Network Design aimed to simply keys and accounts management

With the introduction of the blockchain came also the concept of the private key  which is a special type of hash key that protects this information on the blockchain. As long as you have this private key, the item on the blockchain is essentially yours.

However – unlike other passwords, when this private key is lost. There currently is very little that one can do to recover the key and in turn recover access to the cryptocurrency/funds.

They have been many stories written in traditional newspapers, in industry related articles about people that have lost millions of dollars due to losing their private key. In the most recent example, it seems that this gentleman lost about 60 million dollars in Bitcoin because he could not find his private key.

Well, now, thanks to the Tenzorum project, a company focusing on the key management space, we may no longer have to worry about this. When the project is available this will provide a way to self-manage our keys and provide that backdrop of comfort so that we and our relatives will have access to those funds in the future.


Problem

Nowadays getting into this crypto-jungle, as described above, requires that you manage several super complicated private keys. Here we show you a short summary of the different uses private keys have in the crypto space.

While dealing with all these keys, passwords, and 2FA… may seem like a “normal” occurrence for those already in the crypto space, it is indeed crazy as hell for the non crypto-lover, and it is a highly inefficient system to work with in. To be honest, we can not assume that “our mothers” will deal with all these passwords, and therefore, mass adoption will still have to wait until we get with something simpler and effective…

Solution

Tenzorum is working on creating the ‘Web of Trust’, more about this in our main feature section.

Tenzorum will work to break this centralization and provide the users of their network with a decentralized cross-chain solution that provides the user with the piece of mind that the masses need to truly adopt cryptocurrency and blockchain into their everyday life.

Tenzorum will implement the following technology to ensure key ownership in a ‘self-sovereign’ manner.

  • Login Abstraction
  • Access Control
  • Recovery Mechanism

These 3 technologies together will provide the user with the ability to control how they interact with a decentralized service and limit the amount of information that is shared to provide a level of privacy that is not available in the centralized services we interact with today.


Main Features

All protocols within the Tenzorum ecosystem are built from the ground-up and created to simplify the process around storing and managing private keys for decentralized technologies. Tenzorum is building a protocol layer that will seamlessly interface with BTC or ETH for example.

Web of Trust, as mentioned above was originally put forth by Phil Zimmermann in 1992 in the manual for PGP version 2.0 and is a feature in the Tenzorum Network:

It seeks to solve the issue of lack of self sovereignty over personal data, though the Web of Trust is not a new concept, Tenzorum seeks to harness the social networking aspect of this protocol and deploy an incentive mechanism within it. Users will be responsible for verifying and vouching for other users to allow them access to secured storage, edit and recovery functions, this will be known as the ‘web of trust peers’ within the Tenzorum ecosystem.

Tenzorum Service Node Network (TSNN)

TSNN is a public utility network that can run independent of any service provider. TSNN will be tasked with running the protocols to manage the key services for the integration of decentralized technologies therefore connecting various distributed networks together, cross-chain.

Here’s some of TSNN’s functionality listed below:

  • Handling encryption tasks such as key fragments packets.
  • Securing access to data through ownership verification of Web of Trust.
  • Distributing rewards for successful keys ownership calls through consensus mechanism.
  • Assuring integrity and disincentivizing improper behaviour.

Token Progressive Economics

Token Ticker : TENZ

Stage 1: TENZ will be an ERC-20 Token used to activate core contracts associated with management services of : the storage, editing, and recovery of private keys.

Stage 2: The TENZ tokens issued in stage 1 will be used to gain access to the future Tenzorum Network (the Tenzorum Network will be used as the inter-ledger network). The Tenzorume Service Node Network, will function as its own public network possessing its own native token. This will allow the network to extend its functionality to a general purpose key management service network.

Stage 3: Tenzorum will have Masternodes to harness staking and establish inclusive governance.This will guarantee the governance of the open-source code base, protocol/UX features acceptance, organizational priorities, growth campaigns, partnerships and future vision direction.
